As a psychotherapist, my hope is to help you move toward a meaningful, vital, and fulfilling life. I will provide you with a safe and supportive environment in which, together, we can look honestly at your experiences, beliefs, and perceptions and how they may be keeping you stuck.
As an insight-oriented counselor, I believe that the understanding you develop during therapy can be empowering and transformative. I tailor my approach to your specific needs, and I would be honored to work with you as you discover and embrace your authentic self.
I have a particular interest in working with older adolescents and adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, life transitions, stress, grief and loss, meaninglessness, personal growth, disconnection, and addiction. I have provided individual and group therapy in academic, agency, treatment center, and private practice settings.
Growing up in Hawaii, attending school in Upstate New York, and settling down in Austin has only strengthened my deep appreciation for all forms of diversity. To accommodate a wide variety of schedules and needs, I see clients during daytime and evening hours at both our central Austin and north Austin locations.
Because I understand that “fit” is an important part of successful therapeutic work, I offer an introductory no cost consultation.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Skidmore Collegein Saratoga Springs, New York, and a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University in San Marcos. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern (License #73790) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC #567171) and am supervised by Louis Laves-Webb, LCSW, LPC-S. I am committed to maintaining my professional competence through weekly supervision, continuing education, and rigorous physical, mental, and emotional self-care.
When I am not practicing psychotherapy I enjoy reading, breathing deeply out in nature, cooking, and spending time with my husband and dog.
