Hi, I’m Heather Connelly, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate at Louis Laves-Webb and Associates, and I’m glad you’re here.

I work with individuals, couples, and families. I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Saint Martin’s University, and I’m trained in both Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Counseling. My work is rooted in family systems and attachment because I’ve seen personally and professionally how deeply early relationships and family dynamics shape us.

If you’ve landed here, you may be feeling stuck or tired of carrying so much on your own. You might be functioning on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or not quite like yourself on the inside. You may be noticing patterns you can’t seem to break, old family dynamics showing up in your relationships, or the feeling that you’re always the strong one, the responsible one, the fixer, or the one who stays quiet to keep the peace. Often those roles started long ago, and therapy can help you understand what you learned to carry, what you learned to silence, and what you needed to do to feel safe and loved.

And sometimes it’s not just emotional, it’s physical, too. You may be running on low sleep, high stress, and a nervous system that never fully powers down. You might be navigating hormonal shifts and wondering why your patience is thinner, your anxiety is louder, your mood feels unpredictable, or your body doesn’t feel familiar. When what you’re experiencing gets named, it can be deeply relieving.

You may also be looking for a therapist who understands that life can be both beautiful and brutal, sometimes all at once. I’ve lived a full life with tender seasons and very painful ones. Losing my mother at a young age transformed my family in devastating ways and shaped who I became. I’ve also experienced family estrangement, divorce, remarriage, and the complexity of blended families. And now I’m in a later phase of life, menopause, a transition that was minimized for decades but is finally being spoken about more openly. These seasons matter, and they deserve support, language, and care.

In therapy, you don’t have to power through. You get to slow down, make sense of what you’re carrying, and begin building steadier ground, one honest step at a time. Sessions are tailored to you, some days practical and skill-based, and other days deeper emotional work. I have a multi-modal approach grounded in time-tested theories that support real healing.

Outside of therapy, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, getting outdoors in the sunshine whenever I can, practicing yoga, and singing to stay grounded. I also love reading about new therapy techniques, and I’m always up for binging a good series with my kids.

If you’re looking for therapy that feels warm, honest, and hopeful, without minimizing what you’re going through, I’d be honored to support you.
